Bangor Debutants Defeat Druids
By Kevin Owen
Two early second half goals put Bangor on the road to victory in Andy Legg's first game at the helm
Bangor City’s summer revolution got off to a winning start as Andy Legg’s men beat newly promoted Cefn Druids in the new manager’s first competitive match at the helm.
A number of the Citizen’s supporters were disappointed to see Neville Powell parting company with the club – but debutant Daniel Nardiello put the new manager’s boys ahead a matter of seconds after the restart to claim his first Bangor goal in his first game.
Fellow debutant Henry Jones emulated Nardiello's feat as he doubled the Citizens' lead a minute later - and that was enough to secure the three points for Andy Legg in his first game at the helm.
Stuart Cook gave the visitors a little hope in added time but his great 20 yard strike wasn't enough to claim anything tangible from the match.
Druids boss Huw Griffiths – a former Bangor player of course - had also been busy in the transfer market over the summer months and while he would have been disappointed with the result on Friday evening – there were plenty of positive aspects in his side’s performance to give them hope for the remainder of the season.
