Outstanding performance by Bangor City U12 Girls during narrow defeat

Tough defeat at home despite fantastic performance

Fantastic performance by Bangor City FC U12 Girls in their North Wales Girls League Home Fixture V Northop Hall!!!

Excellent performance by the girls in a hard fought 1-0 defeat. By far the best team throughout the game, dominating possession and territory, just unable to make their superiority count on the score sheet!!!

The sides inexplicably went in 0-0 at half time after their GK (their Player of the Match) made a string of outstanding saves from Cerys Parry, Reaghan Smith and Charley Marr, with Elin Jones and Gwen Roberts also coming close and Sophie Allsop having a crunching volley finger tipped onto the post!!!

The 2nd half continued in the same fashion with Bangor driving forward and creating the most chances, playing the bulk of the game in the opposition half. But then from a corner a wicked deflection led to an unfortunate own goal, which gave Northop a thoroughly undeserved lead which killed off the game.

The last 20 minutes of the match the girls gave a herculean effort and did everything they could to try to score but this was always going to be difficult when the opposition put all 9 players behind the ball and just defended!!! Despite this Bangor's Girls pushed on for an equaliser creating more good chances and drawing yet more saves from the opposition stopper!!!

Player of the match for Bangor was Charley Marr with Elin Jones as Managers Player of the Match!!! Well done girls fantastic performance by the whole team, keep up the hard work!!!
