TRANSFER NEWS | EXPERIENCED BALL PLAYING DEFENDER PHIL BAKER SIGNS

4 weeks ago By luke Purcell

We are delighted to announce our third signing of the day as Phil "Pip" Baker puts pen to paper. The Classy central defender joins Bangor City.

Phil spent 10 great years at TNS were he literally won everything. A serial winner throughout his career who is looking to secure more silverware in the blue of Bangor. He spent last season at Marine AFC in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League. Baker has also had spells at Tranmere Rovers, Aberystwyth Town, Droylsden, TNS, Warrington Town.

On a crazy day the Boss said: “Pip is a player and a person I know very well and know what he will bring to Bangor City. In my opinion Pip is the best footballing Centre Back to have played in the WPL. He is a fantastic passer of the ball with a great range both short and long and is as good as I’ve seen playing long diagonal passes. He has won everything there is to win in Welsh football. He is in the top 3 players for Welsh appearance in the Champions League. His experience will be invaluable to the young members of the squad”.

Phil will wear the number 12 shirt for the upcoming 2018/19 season.

Welcome aboard Pip!!
