Bangor City FC confirms that long-serving midfielder Damien Allen has been transferred to Aberystwyth Town where he will link up with former Citizens manager Neville Powell.
Damien began his career with Manchester United as a youngster, before featuring for Stockport County where he made 57 Football League appearances. He then spent time on loan to Royal Antwerp in Belgium before joining Morecambe in August 2007. Further moves to Halifax, Bury and Colwyn Bay followed before signing for Bangor City in November 2011.
Thirty-one year-old Damien marked his debut for The Citizens with the opening goal in a 5-0 win at Prestatyn Town on 2 January 2012. During his six-year stay at Nantporth, Damien made a total of 145 (plus 6 substitute) appearances in the Welsh Premier League, scoring 11 goals along the way.
Out of action since undergoing surgery in December, Damien’s last appearance in a Bangor City shirt was in the 5-0 win over Bala Town on Friday, 24 November. His last competitive goal for The Citizens coming in the 44th minute of the 2-3 home defeat to Cardiff Met in mid-October.
