Citizens Manager Kevin Nicholson's analysis of the JD WPL Matchday 10 defeat at Prestatyn Town

Ben Leggatt (Bangor City FC Media): A disappointing result tonight?

Kevin Nicholson:
Yes, very disappointing result and parts of that performance were also very disappointing. That’s the first time we’ve lost two games in a row so we’ve got to bounce back next week that’s for certain.

BL: There were plenty of goals in the first half and then just as we looked to be getting on top this evening there was the red card decision against Brayden Shaw?

Kevin Nicholson:
Yes, the first thing to say is that we’re conceding too many goals – four tonight, three last week – seven in two games is far too many, certainly if you want to achieve what we want to achieve. Tonight, we conceded early which is obviously disappointing but then we played very well for a 15 minute spell after that and that got us 2-1 up and we were very good in that period. And then again got pegged back and that was disappointing to concede from a set-piece for 2-2. We came out second half to implement what we’d done in that little 15 minute spell in the first half where we got our goals, to see if we could do that again. We huffed and puffed a little bit, we made one or two chances to go ahead at that point and then obviously you had the sending off. The referee has said that he’s pulled him back before what we thought he wins the ball but that is what it is. Obviously, it doesn’t help you when you’re at 2-2 to get a man sent off but it happens and we obviously conceded two more goals after that. So, it’s disappointing.

BL: Looking ahead to next Friday’s match with Cefn Druids. That’s an important one now?

Kevin Nicholson:
Yes, very much so, because that’s the first time we’ve lost two in a row. After every defeat it’s important to bounce back (...) All credit to Prestatyn they kept going for ninety minutes, which we knew they would do anyway (...) But, like you say, next Friday is now an important game.
