Bangor City FC Appoint New Director of Football

Bangor City FC is delighted to announce that Stephen Vaughan Jnr has officially accepted the role as Director Of Football with The Citizens.

Vaughan, a former England Youth International, started his career at Liverpool FC, signing a 3 year professional contract for the Merseyside giants on his 17th Birthday. He went on play over 70 games for the reserve side before being released at aged 20 and joining League Two club Chester City FC.

He made 67 appearances for the Cheshire outfit before moving on to Boston United, playing 7 games for the then League Two club before injury struck snapping his Achilles tendon.

Vaughan went on to play a further 9 games for Droylsden and 8 games for Northwich Victoria in the National Conference League before hanging up his boots through re-occurring Achilles problems aged just 25.

Vaughan comes with a wealth of experience both in the UK and abroad having been President of BOV Maltese Premier League Club Floriana FC and Technical Director of Fellow Maltese Club Mosta FC.

Vaughan has accepted the full time position at Bangor City FC having linked up with the Club in July 2016 on a part time basis Vaughan's role has been identifying players for First Team Manager Andy Legg, negotiating contracts and securing the players signature, allowing Legg to concentrate on coaching the first team squad.

Gwynfor Jones, General Manager & Matchday Secretary of Bangor City FC, added:
“I have worked closely with Stephen since July and the quality of players brought to the club shows his knowledge of the game. He has attended WPL games not involving Bangor City every weekend since the start of the season and has brought a level of professionalism on the playing side that will benefit the club long term. I look forward to working closely with Stephen in the future for the benefit of Bangor City FC.”
